11.25.08 ~ Intricate New Blue Floral Design

We’ve been creating many designs lately, but one in particular has become a favorite. Created for photographer Sharlane Chase, the simple blue & white theme is suitable for highlighting her gorgeous images, but it’s the meandering floral graphics that provide the playful element Sharlane requested for her DoodleDo design. We went all out on this one since it will be a studio sample and showpiece for Sharlane’s beautiful photographic style.

11.15.08 ~ Design for Latest What’s in the Box

The design for our latest Zookbinders review features a bold graphic on pale yellow, a difficult combination even with strong images. In this album not only are the images strong, but their placement in relation to the graphic elements and color theme keeps the focus on the couple and their gorgeous photographs. The result is bright, cohesive and coordinated layout, effectively portraying the wedding day story. Check it out by clicking the thumbnail!

11.12.08 ~ Another In-Depth Review of Zookbinders

In our newest What’s in the Box, Robin takes another look at Zookbinders, this time, a gorgeous 36 page 12×12 with a glove leather cover. The album features a wedding Robin photographed with Laura Siivola of Arizona.

How many paws for this new Zookbinders? 3 paws this time for packaging, only because we were blown away by the gorgeous presentation of Finao.

11.06.08 ~ Consistency in design

We recently had the pleasure of designing a wedding album for Shannon Hodson, Lucky Red Hen.  We see lots of beautiful photographs as we design away into the wee hours of the night, but this particular collection is worth noting and sharing for a few reasons.  It’s clear from the images that Shannon has developed her unique Style.  Not only a remarkable eye for composition, but Shannon’s processing is fabulous!  Her black and white conversions are crisp, and the color is amazingly consistent.  The hallmark of a beautiful design is consistency.

When processing, start with consistency.  Get creative with a few.  When laying out your design, have a common theme… a background or accent color that is the same throughout the book will tie it all together.

This beautiful album was sent to Asukabook to be printed, and we are hoping that Lucky Red Hen sends us a few pics of the finished product!  But, until then, here is the design… enjoy!
